Susan Vendeland Having been a primary care Nurse Practitioner for many years, Susan Vendeland, MN, ARNP, BC, decided to do “something different, something that made people feel good about themselves, and something fun!”!! So, she decided to learn the art of selected treatments in Medical Esthetics… a GREAT complement to the dental excellence and cosmetic dentistry that Vendeland Dental Professionals provides.

Susan completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. She was the senior nursing fellow and a speaker at her commencement ceremonies. After graduation, she practiced in high-risk obstetrics for a while then began work to earn her masters degree at the University of Washington. She completed her masters and practiced for a number of years as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist, acting as a liaison between the tertiary perinatal center and the referring hospitals. As part of her role, she coordinated and taught at many medical and nursing conferences.

Susan returned to the University of Washington for an additional two years to complete coursework to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified as both a Women’s Health and an Adult Nurse Practitioner. As part of the care she would provide, dealing with dermatologic, or skin issues was an area of interest for her. Medically dealing with acne, rosacea, pigmentation, etc. became relatively commonplace in her busy primary care practice. So, she is ready and able to treat those facial dermatology issues in addition to the medical esthetics!

Botox, Dermal Fillers (such as Juvéderm® and Restylane®), chemical facial peels, and microdermabrasion provide wonderful cosmetic results without surgery. Nearly all who receive these treatments are overwhelmingly happy with the results, as long as their expectations are realistic. Plus, feeling good about yourself elevates your mood and can impact all avenues in your life!

In her spare time, she teaches community classes for Overlake Hospital, and, along with her husband, Dr. Vendeland, she enjoys interior design, boating, dancing, and playing with their grandchildren.
